Socrates Sculpture Park

Education Program Overview

Socrates offers a series of educational initiatives including Coastal Classroom, our school-based maritime program that takes place at Socrates Sculpture Park Beach; art-making workshops for kids, teens and adults; custom tours for schools and groups; and internships in the Park from spring through fall. Since 1990, the Education Program has been serving a diverse cross-section of the community, often providing local residents their first experience with art.

Through our art-making workshops, Socrates serves thousands of kids, teens and adults with innovative and inspiring topics and techniques, from designing furniture to building boats to creating sculpture. The workshops are taught by exhibiting artists and are shaped by the Park's changing exhibitions, the natural setting in an urban environment, and the landscape's seasonal transformations.
