HONOREE: TONY FEHER
Throughout his career as an artist, Tony Feher has mined common objects of our material world and transformed them into extraordinary moments of revelation and beauty. He has exhibited throughout the United States and internationally, and has a twenty-year survey of his work, organized by the Blaffer Museum, University of Houston that will travel to four venues over a two-year period terminating at the Bronx Museum for the Arts in October of 2013. Feher is an alumni artist of Socrates Sculpture Park.
HONOREE: RICHARD FLOOD
Over his 40-plus year career, Richard Flood has served as Managing Editor of Artforum, Curator at P.S. 1, Director of Barbara Gladstone Gallery, Chief Curator at the Walker Art Center, and Chief Curator, Director of Special Projects and Curator at Large at the New Museum. He has published extensively on contemporary art and has organized a multitude of museum exhibitions including solo exhibitions of artists such as Matthew Barney, Robert Gober, Sherrie Levine, Sigmar Polke, and Rivane Neuenschwander.
"Welcoming the Flowers" is a series of 18 prints by the poet and artist John Giorno. Each print is a different poem / text that combines sumptuous colors with the floral imagery in a collision of art and culture. Proceeds will benefit the Park's grounds and gardens.
