Stacked, 2005
35-pound weightlifting plates
5’10” x 14” x 14”

This sculpture takes the form of a series of approximately fifty 35-pound lifting weights stacked onto a vertical metal pole along the waterfront facing Manhattan. Over several months, Lee will periodically pick up a weight at Modells' Sporting Goods on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and carry it approximately 4.5 miles across the Queensboro Bridge to Socrates Sculpture Park. Over the course of the exhibition, the stack of weights will slowly grow to a height of almost six feet.
