Exhibition: EAF08: 2008 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition, 2008
Strips of wood and bamboo, cut at various lengths and dyed in an assortment of colors, are intertwined in this woven sculpture. Responding specifically to the site, the installation takes as its point of departure a location adjacent to the East River, arching over the fence line to access the main body of the Park. This form recalls bridges, airport structures, and sail boat riggings. Tension is a key element required for the stability of the whole installation.
