The artist has created a sign that suggests an unlikely crossover between the dry semantics of historical conceptual art and the realm of state fair cuisine. Taking as its launching point a seminal Joseph Kosuth work from 1968, in which that artist presented a partial taxonomy of all things and conditions within the universe, the artist’s playful, but austere freestanding sign posits a continuation of that universal taxonomy -- one that is specific to the signature delicacies offered by state fair food vendors.
